Sex workers who use
There is an intersection between drug users and sex worker populations that must be recognized if sex workers are to receive services that are appropriate and useful. USU is working with sex workers who use drugs and asking them what it is they need from a service provider. We are currently in the process of getting this work done.
Our Sex worker initiative involves:
S.W.A.T. Team– Our effort to ensure a joint approach to empowering sex workers and reducing harms they are exposed to.

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers December 17th
Trans Day of Remembrance- November 20th-Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of those whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence.
Sex worker Rights Day: Sunday March 3
S.W.A.T. Team Program Includes These Elements:
Public and Sex worker Education: Design, Implement and Evaluate training’s for conferences, rehabilitation, social service agencies, and community groups to educate people and reduce violence and oppression against sex workers.
Leadership Development: we use a social justice framework, retreats, Understanding the Laws that affect your life, Know your rights training’s.
Public Education– Chapters give lectures at local universities, develop and present training’s at conferences and social service agencies, and create and distribute resources to help educate the public and reduce individual and institutional violence against Sex Workers. We have a number of awareness campaigns pertaining to sex workers rights including: International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers Trans Day of Remembrance, and Sex Worker Rights Day.
Advocacy- We advocate for sex worker rights/ we advocate against policies that increase the harm and violence to sex workers. We advocate against all policies that increase stigma and related harms to sex worker. Legislative Days and Felons can Vote days
Direct Services: We are currently in the process of developing our direct services program for sex workers. This means we are having community meetings with sex worker
